So i saw these pictures on a site and was immediately drawn to them and thought they were stunning. When i was reading about them it explained her process! she takes the viewfinder of a camera and sticks in front of the lens of the camera she's using to take a photo, to get this framed shabby chic look! so i had to try it for myself! mind you these were my first tries, but i think it's a fun technique and can't wait to try it some more! find an old camera with a viewfinder and try it today! happy snapping!

THE ZUTTER
I've been on a book making frenzy lately all because of one machine.... THE ZUTTER it's a cutter for all materials to make that cute rectangle edge cut to make books and albums. It also will bind your book too! it's the greatest thing ever! it's been fun to use up all my random left over goods in books. For fun pages and dividers! here are a few examples!

All that's left to do after you bind your book, is embellish, tie some ribbons, add some photo's and a mini album, or book for everyone to enjoy! AND NOT TO MENTION THAT THEY ARE TONS OF FUN!

Do any of you have an old card board box laying around? Well then your already on your way to a darling mini album. I've been addicted to these lately! They are so easy to make and FREE because all you need to re purpose is a box. And then use any scrapbooking supplies you have on hand or like. It works with any color scheme, and any theme! they are so fun! they look so classic too! I like to bind mine with the ZUTTER machine! and tie ribbons on the binding! Look in your house today for a empty cardboard box and START creating a wonderful keepsake for YOUR family!

Products I Love
I've really fallen in love with a newer paper line called October Afternoon! it has journaling cards, matching paper, rub on's, rubber label's, and stamps. it has very brilliant colors and patterns. My favorite print right now is the one with the fawns and the tree's. Just wanted to pass on some good stuff!

Camera Tricks
I've learned NOT to use auto mode on my camera or the flash anymore unless absolutly necessary. I've only got a point and shoot digital camera, but the results are well worth it. i use my MANUAL mode. i set the white balance, to what ever i need such as, daylight, cloudy, fluorescent etc. Then you need to manually change the ISO to usually something high like 400, 800, or higher. then the shutter speed and the aperture. and if you have a display screen i just hold down my picture button to let the camera zoom and it usually reads what light settings are working. then i adjust it if i need it. then i have to manually turn OFF the flash. this is best for natural light and shadow. I've taken some awesome pictures of the kids in front of our front window, inside using this method and they are DARLING. taking pictures from above your subject gives a soft effect too! try it ! you'll love your results. and don't be afraid. the more you play around with your settings you'll get a feel for it and get some AWESOME photo's !

Inspiration
I've started saving all the adds that come in the mail, tags from clothes, and anything that i think MIGHT be able to be altered in some way, or used as inspiration for a card, or layout. I've even been saving candy wrappers. I'll post a picture of the layout i do with those. it should be fun. try finding inspiration all around you! any design, color combination, or visual element can inspire you and refresh your style! try getting INSPIRED today!

i liked the layout of this add. with the curvy red strip going across and the 2 circles on the right. it would be such a good place for photo's or journaling spots.

I loved these candy wrappers when i saw the kids unwrapping a treat at the parade. and i don't now why i thought to save them for a layout. but i did. the colors jumped at me for a summer layout of some kind. so see what's around you to use for inspiration.

These are clothing tags that i altered for gift tags. these were both tags from jeans. i just covered up the label's name with pattern paper or decorative tape. have fun with the things that aren't made for paper crafting. it can be very fun to be creative and think outside the box.

this is a layout i did using various "recycled" items. old playing cards, dry cleaning tags, a page from a dictionary, and paper streamers. have fun with different things that can open the doors for creativity!
